 [ Research Topics ]

Mid-infrared ultrashort pulse generation and its control 2007/04- [KEYWORD(S):Nonlinear Optics, Ultrashort Laser Pulses]
Summary:The aim is to generate very short optical pulses in the mid-infrared and to synthesize its waveform arbitrarily.
Observation of molecular dynamics using nonlinear spectroscopy 2008/04- [KEYWORD(S):Mid-infrared, Molecular Dynamics, Ultrashort Laser Pulses]
Summary:The aim is to resolve the ultrafast molecular vibrational dynamics in the condensed phase, by use of the mid-infrared ultrafast spectroscopy.
Optical properties of ferroelectric nonlinear opcial crystals 2007- [KEYWORD(S):lithium niobate, polaron, carrier relaxation, nonlinear optics]
Summary:We study fundamental optical properties of ferroelectric crystals. The carrier relaxation dynamics and its relation to macroscopic physical parameters are investigated.
Optical frequency conversion by use of quasi-phase matching 2005- [KEYWORD(S):frequency conversion, quasi-phase matching, group-velocity matching, periodically-poled ferroelectrics, cascading nonlinearity]
Summary:The aim is to develop a novel scheme of optical frequency conversions based on engineered structure of ferroelectric domains.

 [ Awards ]
